2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify. When you open a page, Netlify's servers record server logs with your IP address and request data, such as the page requested and the time. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in delivering a secure website. Netlify keeps these logs under its own retention policy.

Netlify, Inc. is based in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to it rest on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR); Netlify offers a GDPR data processing addendum.

3. Forms

Both forms on this site are processed and stored by Netlify Forms. Netlify also sends each submission by email to our Gmail mailbox (section 4).

Waitlist. Your email address, your domain and your agreement to this privacy policy. We use them to send you one email when paid reports open. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps taken at your request prior to a contract.

Volunteer report form. Your email address, your domain, your site type, your Reddit username, your answer on whether you will give feedback, your optional question, your Search Console export and your agreement to this privacy policy. We use them to produce and send your free report and to ask for your feedback. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Your Reddit username is used only to match your form to your Reddit comment or message, and is deleted with the submission.

4. Email

Email sent to hello@rankverdict.io is forwarded by Namecheap and received in a Gmail mailbox provided by Google. Reports are sent from that mailbox. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Namecheap, Inc. is based in the USA; transfers to it are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Commission Decision (EU) 2021/914, Module Two) in its Data Processing Addendum, annexed to its Terms of Service.

Google LLC is based in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to it rest on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

5. Producing the report

To produce a volunteer report, we send your domain and the search queries from your Search Console export to DataForSEO OÜ (Estonia, EU), which returns search volumes, competitor results and authority figures. DataForSEO's terms include a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. For its own processors in third countries, DataForSEO uses Standard Contractual Clauses or relies on adequacy decisions. DataForSEO keeps API task data for up to 365 days under its own policy and then deletes it. The analysis itself runs on our own computer; no other service receives your data for it. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

6. How long we keep your data

  • We delete the uploaded export, the form submission and our working copies 30 days after the report is delivered. The finished report is kept for 6 months for a follow-up comparison and deleted sooner on request.
  • Waitlist entries are deleted after the one launch email has been sent, or earlier on request, and in any case after 12 months.
  • Our deletion does not reach DataForSEO's own copy, which it keeps for up to 365 days under its policy (section 5).
  • Server logs are kept under Netlify's policy (section 2).

7. Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no tracking and no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from this site.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To use them, email hello@rankverdict.io. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The one responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW).
